We are a parent run group on a voluntary basis and we welcome any new members to come along and play and socialise.
We meet every week on a Friday morning 9.30 until 11.30 (Term Time) at the village hall. The group is for Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Carers with their children aged 0 to 5. We are a parent run group on a voluntary basis and we welcome any new members to come along and play and socialise. We charge £2 for the first child and 50p for extra siblings, which includes tea, coffee, hot choc and snack and drink for the children.
We have a variety of play equipment including active play, ride on toys, construction toys, dressing up and imaginary themed toys, creative and messy play. The session has music and we vary activities and include singing, dance, playing musical instruments and storytelling.
Since the group began in December 2013, we have worked hard to create a welcoming and appealing group for everyone who attends and so far we have had a Christmas party, celebrated world book day, with the children encouraged to dress up in costume, had a visit from Foxy Lodge with two real hedgehogs, allowing the children and adults to see such shy creatures close up.
We have had themed sessions including the celebration of the Gruffalo book and introduced the children and their carers to using a story sack to add a new dimension to reading and storytelling, using puppets and props. We have also had visits from the Pre-school alliance, where the session has focused on healthy eating and active play with parachute games and creative play with new ideas for messy play.
We finished this term with an extended session outside on the park and we enjoyed a teddy bears picnic together and all the children enjoyed playing together in the sunshine. If anyone would like to come along to the group, we will be back on Friday 29th August and weather permitting we will take some of the equipment outside and enjoy another extended session in the sunshine.
Fancy dress optional and bring your own picnic if staying
to picnic in the park.
